Along Dutch Waterways
Every ten years the Netherlands hosts Floriade, a floral wonderland featuring blooms, bushes and breakthroughs from gardening experts all over the world eager to showcase their prized plantings and horticultural applications in pavilions designed to delight. In 2022, from April 14 through October 9, Floriade Expo is going green to celebrate sustainable solutions for urban living in a 148-acre park of land reclaimed from the sea just outside of Amsterdam in eco-friendly Almere. We will join the celebration on included full-day visits on our Cruising the Dutch Waterways riverboat journey.
The theme of Floriade Expo 2022 is “Growing Green Cities” and it plays out in exhibits that blend harmony, balance and beauty with technology to create synergistic innovations that make our world more livable and enjoyable. During your visit, you can immerse yourself in greenery as you learn how to nurture with nature. Discover living roofs and vertical gardens, a library of trees in an alphabetized arboretum, a bobbing forest, and abundant gardens bursting with vegetables, fruits and fragrant flowers. Explore Floriade by rail, boat, cable car, and garden strolls. Meet horticulturists and gardeners, experts in their fields, and learn about the latest advancements and techniques to feed, energize, and promote healthy living in the cities of today and tomorrow. Floriade Expo 2022 gives you the opportunity to see, taste and experience a bouquet of horticultural how-tos for living healthier and greener.
