Dear Tauck Family of Friends,
As the calendar pages are about to turn to 2021, there are brighter days ahead. We look forward to a new year of promise and hope, where the challenges and successes of past decades shine as a beacon of light for a new era of travel. The “Porchlight” namesake was chosen as a metaphor – the light that we leave on to welcome people home. In 2021 this beacon shines bright for our guests, signaling the time when we travel together again.
Travel is all about joy. The experiences, the special moments, the connections you make with the places you go, the people you meet, and the folks you travel with. It is a positive force for good in our world, making all of our days more memorable.
As this is our final 2020 edition of The Porchlight, I want to thank you for your faith and trust in Tauck. Here’s looking forward to a world of new travel possibilities.

It is good to hear from you, Dan. I miss those days when you came to GFA in your Egyptian garb and showed slides of Egypt to my 5th grade students. I retired last year, hoping to travel more.
We booked a wonderful River Cruise on the Rhone, and loved every minute of the cruise. It was the first time I was able to travel in the Fall rather than the summer when I had school vacation. Monte-Carlo and Paris were dazzling additions to this cruise, and we enjoyed the beautiful hotels and restaurants. OF course the food on the ship was outstanding, too. It was a delightful experience.
We cannot wait until it is safe to travel again.

What a great Porchlight video! It is heartwarming to know that a light is left on for us travelers. Knowing that the light was always there while we traveled to distant lands or the same old place. I lost my wife and travel companion of 59 years in July. We were looking forward to another Tauck river trip. (this time Paris to Normandy). I appreciated your recent positive message and hopefully I will be able to participate in another journey with Tauck in the near future.

I’m so sorry to hear about your loss. I lost my husband in 2017, we were avid travelers. I hesitated to travel alone, decided to use TAUCK, a company I had known about for many years. My first solo trip since my 30’s was October 2018 to Japan. I found my fellow travelers were warm, kind, and very inclusive to me as a solo traveler. It was a life-affirming experience. I’ve since gone to Croatia and Sicily, am heading to Africa in 2021 after my 2020 trip was cancelled. I share this to encourage you to continue your travels when you are ready. I have enjoyed so many wonderful adventures with Tauck and it didn’t surprise me in the least that you found such a warm and entertaining way to keep this “family” together during these unique times.
What a wonderful message! I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful the Africa trip was for our whole family. Watching my parents, in their 80’s, climb into a hot air balloon… seeing my mother’s face when giraffes and elephants were within an arms reach of the jeep are images I won’t forget. It was a trip that the 3 generations equally enjoyed.

Tauck was kind enough to roll our reservations over to 2021, although we were unable to have our original single rooms but I am on a waitlist if there is a cancellation so we can each have our own cabin. Thank you again. Tauck is the only company I will travel with. Kudos to your great staff.

We have done a back to back tour for 4 weeks & also a river cruise from Amsterdam to Bucharest 4 weeks. Being away from home on the two trips I thought I would have to be retrained on cooking & cleaning. Loved all our trips & looking forward to our Paris to Monte Carlo river cruise 2021. We have taken 8 tours with Tauck. Your tours are so well organized the only thing you have to do is show up, I love to be pampered. Like the song says Happy trails to you until we meet again. We are traveling with you again on October 3rd for Classic Italy, Small Groups and so looking forward to our 2nd tour with you. In 2022 we will be doing A Week in… Tuscany & Umbria and were hoping to add on Authentic Italy: Venice to Rome by train. I do hope that you will once again be offering this tour. We were going to go on both of these tours last fall but Covid continued and we stayed home. Have you ever thought of combining these two tours? They are just so uniquely different and intriguing!

Lovely message. We have many fond memories of our Tauck trips. Our Kentucky trip this past Fall was postponed due to the pandemic. Our refund was prompt. We are still waiting for a refund from Crystal Cruises for a cancelled June trip. No need to wonder who will and who won’t get out future travel business!
