First Tauck Tour

In April of 2016, we took our first Tauck tour, a Rhone River cruise southbound. We are experienced travelers, but not ever before with Tauck. The tour began in Paris, then fast train to Lyon to board the ship. From Lyon to Arles and back again, everything about the tour went smoothly and well. The Tauck directors and manager were excellent; the food, wine, and excursions top notch. It was a wonderful tour. But the experience that sold us on Tauck forever after was how the managers/directors handled a major problem. As we were approaching Lyon to disembark, we learned that there was a major transportation strike in France that would affect trains and planes, which of course many people onboard had reservations on. Tauck staff must have worked throughout the night before we disembarked to help everyone – including those who had not booked travel through Tauck – find a way to their next destination. By disembark time, everyone was sorted and fixed up and ready to get on their way. That was a memorable demonstration of why we continue to travel with Tauck: Yes, the tours are terrific, but when the chips are down, Tauck people can handle anything! Well done!!
